Mosquitoes breed in small amounts of standing water: plant saucers, bromeliads, gutters, tarps and toys. Private yard service focuses on finding and reducing those sources and treating where adult mosquitoes rest. The Collier Mosquito Control District handles public, area-wide control within its boundaries.
Who it's for
- Homeowners who want to use the yard, lanai and pool area
- Families planning outdoor events
- Owners with dense plantings, bromeliads or water features
- Homes with ticks or fleas around the yard
What's included
Property assessment
Breeding sites, resting areas, drainage and how you use the yard.
Source reduction
Standing water emptied, flagged or addressed, with a list of things you can keep doing between visits.
Targeted treatment
Applied to resting and breeding areas according to the label, avoiding blooms, water and non-target areas as the label requires.
Service interval
A schedule matched to the season and weather, written into your plan.
How it works
Results vary with rain, wind, neighboring properties and the season. We don't promise a mosquito-free yard. Your plan says what's treated, how often and what to do before and after each visit.
Not included, or referred
- Area-wide control, which is the public district's job
- Treatment of ponds, lakes or protected wetlands
- Medical advice about mosquito-borne illness (see the CDC and Florida Department of Health)
What affects the quote
You get a written recommendation and quote after an inspection. These are the things that move the number:
- Yard size and plant density
- Number of breeding sites
- Service interval and season
- Event or one-time service vs. a recurring plan
More detail is in our Naples pest control cost guide.
Safety and instructions
Preparation, re-entry and pet or child precautions depend on the product label and the treatment plan for your home, so your technician gives them to you in writing for that treatment. We don't publish one-size-fits-all wait times. See treatment safety questions.
Why homeowners choose Uniform
Every technician who comes into your home has passed a guaranteed background check. You get a written treatment scope before work starts, a service record of what was found and applied, and the Uniform quality guarantee on the work in your agreement.

Frequently asked questions
Will this get rid of all mosquitoes?
No. It reduces them on your property. Mosquitoes fly in from elsewhere, and weather affects results.
Doesn't the county already spray?
The district does area-wide control within its boundaries. Private service treats your property. See district vs. private service.
Is it safe for pets and kids?
Your technician follows the product label and gives you written instructions for that treatment, including when people and pets can use the yard again. See treatment safety questions.
