Roof rats are common in Southwest Florida, using palms, vines and overhanging branches to reach rooflines and attics. Mice get in through small gaps around utilities and garage doors. Lasting control means finding and closing those entry points, not just setting traps.
Who it's for
- Noises in the attic or walls, especially at night
- Droppings, gnaw marks or chewed wiring
- Rodents in the garage, lanai or kitchen
- Owners who want exclusion done properly once
What's included
Inspection and entry mapping
Roofline, soffits, vents, utility penetrations, garage doors and landscaping that gives access.
Control
Trapping or other control methods chosen for the situation and placed to protect children, pets and non-target animals.
Exclusion
Sealing entry points with rodent-resistant materials, documented with photos where agreed.
Follow-up report
Checks after exclusion, what was removed and any remaining recommendations.
How it works
You get a written scope listing the entry points found, what will be sealed, the control method and the follow-up schedule. Cleanup and sanitation guidance is included; heavy contamination cleanup is quoted separately.
Not included, or referred
- Wildlife other than rats and mice, such as raccoons, bats or snakes, which need a properly authorized provider
- Major roof or soffit repairs (Uniform Handyman or a licensed roofer)
- Tree and palm trimming to remove access (Uniform Landscaping)
What affects the quote
You get a written recommendation and quote after an inspection. These are the things that move the number:
- Number of entry points and roof access
- Size of the home and attic
- Control method and number of visits
- Exclusion materials
- Cleanup and sanitation needs

Frequently asked questions
Can you just set traps?
We can, but without exclusion new rodents usually move in. We'll explain the trade-off in your quote.
Do you handle other wildlife?
Wildlife like raccoons, bats and snakes may need different authorization. We refer those to a properly authorized provider.
Do I need to trim my palms?
Branches and fronds touching the roof give rats a bridge. Trimming is often part of the fix, done by Uniform Landscaping or your landscaper.
