Fumigation is a separate license category
In Florida, fumigation is licensed separately from general household pest control and termite work. Uniform Pest Control offers fumigation only where the local company holds that category; otherwise we refer you to a licensed fumigator. You can check any company in the FDACS license lookup.
Get these in writing from the fumigator
- The written preparation instructions for your home and the fumigant being used
- What must be removed or protected: food, medicine, plants, pets and people
- How the home will be secured during fumigation
- How and when the home will be cleared for re-entry, and by whom
- Who to call with questions before, during and after
Why we don't publish generic timing
Preparation, clearance and re-entry depend on the fumigant label, the structure and the licensed fumigator's procedures. A generic checklist could be wrong for your home. Follow your provider's current written instructions and the label. See EPA: understanding pesticide labels.
Not sure you need fumigation?
Many termite problems are handled with localized or soil treatments. A termite inspection helps you understand the options before you commit.
